Charnwood 75

The Charnwood 75 chicken house can accommodate up to 75 free range hens. The hen house is 7' high at the ridge so you can walk-in and stand up in it. It has 10 traditional wooden nest boxes at the front of the house as standard, additional nest boxes are optional. The are slatted perches along the back of the house with a droppings board underneath to collect the hen droppings. At the back of the chicken house there are hook up shutters so that the droppings can be easily scraped out into a wheelbarrow. The perches and the droppings boards can also be lifted out of the hen house when deep cleaning.

Inside the chicken house there are hinged nest box rails in front of the nest boxes. The hens can use these to jump onto to access the nest boxes, but these can also be hooked up to shut the birds off the nests. Sliding glass windows at the front of the house allow light and ventilation. There is a large pop hole on either end of the house and an access door on one end. Wooden skids are standard on this hen house, metal skids can be fitted for mobility as an optional extra.

As standard there are 10 nest boxes supplied with the poultry house. Free range standards allow 7 birds per nest box, therefore there are enough nest boxes to meet regulations for 70 hens. We offer two tier nest boxes which double the amount of nest boxes in the hen house to 20 nest boxes.

Please note on some of our photos the houses are shown with felt nest boxes. However, we now make the nest box roof with Stockboard, which is a durable recycled black plastic, instead of wood and felt.

This poultry house is delivered by our team in flat sections for customer assembly unless the option for assembly is selected. We pre-drill most of the holes to make it easy for you to put together and all the fixings are supplied with instructions. We do not hold stock of our chicken sheds as they are all handmade to order. Therefore there is a delay between order and delivery which varies depending on the time of year.
