Haywood 50 Hen House

Our Haywood Chicken Coop is 10' x 6' x 7' high (3 x 1.8 x 2.1m) and can accommodate up to 50 chickens to free range standards. Our Haywood range is beautifully designed and makes an excellent hen house in 3 sizes to house up to 25, 50 and 100 chickens to free range standards. The Haywood chicken house range is really popular due to its strong, sturdy and attractive design and its easy management features. 

The Haywood is a walk in chicken coop. You enter the chicken hut from the front of the building. Inside there is a removable block of perches to the right. Under the perches there is a removable wooden droppings board which pulls out for easy cleaning from the front of the house. We offer the option to upgrade the retractable droppings board to a recycled plastic board instead of wooden to make cleaning even easier, please select the option below when ordering.

There is a metal roll away nest box with 10 individual nests inside the hen house as standard. Each individual nest box is lined with a plastic insert on a slight incline so that the eggs gently roll forward into the metal trays at the front of the nest box. These nest boxes are ideal to keep the eggs clean and away from potential egg eaters. Our standard Haywood hen house has the egg collection trays on the inside of the house. If you would like to buy your chicken coop with a cupboard on the outside so that the eggs roll into trays for external collection, please select rear gathering nest boxes in our options below when ordering.

The 50 bird chicken coop has plenty of light with 2 sliding glass windows on each side of the building. It also has 2 weldmesh covered adjustable ventilation hatches on the front for extra light and ventilation.

Our Haywood 50 large chicken coop is supplied with wooden skids as standard, these lift the building off the ground by 4" so that air can circulate underneath, however they are not designed for towing. We offer metal skids as an option so you can have portable chicken coop to move the hen house around the field on a regular basis.

The chickens are released from the hen house via a wooden pop hole which is by the main access door on the front of the chicken house, we can put this on the back if preferred. Many customers now ask for a automatic device that opens and closes the pop hole with either daylight sensor or time. We offer the 'Chicken Guard' PRO door opener, these are a British made product which you can set to open at a certain time and go down at dusk. Please note the aluminum pop door shown in the video is no longer available.

This chicken shed is delivered by our team in flat sections for customer assembly unless the assembly service is selected below. We pre-drill most of the holes to make it easy for you to put together and all the fixings are supplied with instructions. We do not hold a stock of our sheds as they are all handmade to order.
