The Sherwood hen house is a quality wooden chicken shed with a pent sloping corrugated onduline roof. Traditional wooden nest boxes run along the rear of the house. Perches are raised with a sliding droppings board below them, this keeps the area leading to the nest boxes clean. The droppings board slides out of the house from both sides where there is a shutter to lift to remove the board, this makes cleaning very easy.

There is a ventilation slide on the front of the poultry house, with an access door. The pop hole is on the front of the house as standard but, since our chicken houses are custom-made, it can be built on an end if it is preferred. 

If you're looking for a portable chicken coop the Sherwood is very versatile. Wooden skids are standard on the Sherwood, however, the Sherwood can be built as a chicken coop on wheels with strong metal axles bolted to the floor that run across the width of the chicken house.

Door Openers
We offer Chicken Guard's pro door opener and self locking door on our houses. The pro door opener is a device that works on four AA batteries which opens and closes the pop hole for you at a set time, or on a light sensor. This works well with our wooden pop holes, but if you would like extra security we also offer the door opener with a self locking door which is a pop hole that locks down into position once closed.

Please note we now make the nest box roof with Stockboard, which is a durable recycled black plastic, instead of wood and felt. This is much better as felt can perish and it can harbour mites under the felt.

This chicken house is delivered by our team in flat sections for customer assembly. We pre-drill most of the holes to make it easy for you to put together and all the fixings are supplied with instructions. We do not hold a stock of our products as they are all handmade to order. Therefore there is a delay between order and delivery which varies depending on the time of year.
