We had the absolute pleasure of working with The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and The Highland Wildlife Park back in September 2017. We palletised three large buildings and dispatched them from our workshop via transport to Kingussie. It was quite a challenge but the buildings arrived there safely. A few days later we sent a 4 man team to follow the buildings and erect them within the grounds.
The first of the buildings was based on our double horse stable with a few alterations. The building had no overhang and no doors. The stables had a division in the middle and a clear roof light on each side. The building was lined inside with 12mm hard ply to give it extra strength.
The next building was a 10’ x 12’ Horse shelter, again without the overhang and lined inside to 4’ high with hard plywood. We suspect that the building isn’t being used for horses, but probably something far more exotic.
Lastly a 12’ x 18’ Haven field shelter. This one is slightly shorter than our horse shelter design, but still has the apex roof and an optional overhang if required.
It was a great trip to travel to carry out this job for the Highland Wildlife Park. Hopefully, the buildings are working very well for them and we’ll work with them again in the future!
